Aslam gets interim bail in two cases

The High Court (HC) on Tuesday granted a six month interim bail for BNP joint secretary general Aslam Chowdhury in two sabotage cases.

An HC bench comprising Justice Sayed Md. Dostogir Hossen and Justice Md. Mujibur Rahman granted the bail.

Pavel Mia, lawyer of Aslam Chowdhury confirmed the matter to Jagonews24.com.

Aslam Chowdhury is currently in prison. He didn’t get release from prison because he was accused in several cases said, Shakib Mahbub, lawyer of Aslam Chowdhury.

On May 15, plainclothes police arrested Aslam from the capital city.

Several local newspapers published reports attaching photographs of the BNP leader’s meeting with Israeli influential leader Mendi N Safadi.

Police filed a case against him with Gulshan Police Station on May 26 for his alleged involvement in an anti-state plot.

Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon stood for the BNP leader while deputy attorney general Dr. Bashir Ullah represented the state.
