3 murder cases filed against Hasina
Three separate murder cases have been filed against 155 people, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, over the killings of one Meraj Hossain in Demra, Monsur Miah in Basila, Mohammadpur and Nahidul in Mirpur of Dhaka during the recent Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
A complaint was filed with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Belal Hossain against 92 people over the murder of Meraj Hossain on August 5. The court, after recording statement of the complainant, asked the police station concerned to take the matter as first information report, FIR.
Apart from Hasina, other prominent accused in the case are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, former Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Habibur Rahman, DMP additional commissioners Harun Or Rashid and Biplab Kumar Sarkar.
One Ainal Haque filed another complaint against 22 people, including Hasina, with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury over the killing of his brother Monsur Miah in Basila, Mohammadpur, on July 19.
The court recorded the statement of the complainant and asked the Mohammadpur police station to accept the matter as FIR.
The other prominent accused in the case are former Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former Law Minister Anisul Huq, former LGRD Minister Tajul Islam, former Textiles and Jute Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak, former Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud, former State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad A Arafat and private industry and investment adviser to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Salman F Rahman.
Meanwhile, another case was filed against 41, including ousted PM Sheikh Hasina, over the killing of Nahidul Islam in capital's Mirpur area on July 19.
Nahidul's brother Sabuj filed the complaint with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan.
Later, the court recorded the statement of the complainant and asked Mirpur model police station to accept the matter as FIR.
The other accused in the case include Sheikh Rehana, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan, Fazle Noor Taposh, and Fazle Shams Parash.
