Khandker Mosharraf acquitted in money-laundering case
BNP Standing Committee member and former Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Khandker Mosharraf Hossain has been acquitted in a money laundering case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Judge Abul Kasehm of Dhaka Special Judges’ Court-1 acquitted him as the charges against him were not proved.
Mosharraf’s lawyer Taderul Islam Touhid confirmed the matter.
Nasim Anwar, Director of the ACC, filed the case against the BNP leader on February 6, 2014. He submitted a chargesheet against him on August 14 of the same year.
The court framed charges against him on October 28, 2015.
According to the complaint of the case, Mosharraf laundered money illegally by abusing power during his tenure as a minister.
