Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her younger sister Sheikh Rehana, son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, daughter Saima Wazed Putul and 17 others have been named in a case over the murder of a fruit trader in Dhaka's Jatrabari. 

Sultan Mia, father of the victim, Farid Sheikh, filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shakil Ahmed on Tuesday.

The court accepted the statement of the plaintiff and asked the Police Bureau of Investigation, PBI, to investigate the case and submit report.

During the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement in Jatrabari, Sheikh Farid was injured by a bullet fired by police beside Hanif Flyover on August 4 when he was going to his fruit shop. On August 6, he succumbed to his injuries at Mugda Medical College Hospital, according to the case statement.
