Hasina, Quader sued for student murder in Rangpur

A case has been filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 39 others over the murder of a student of Dhaka’s Bangladesh Institute of Glass and Ceramics in Rangpur during the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement.

Apart from Hasina, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Rangpur Range's former DIG Abdul Baten, former Rangpur Metropolitan Police commissioner Mohammad Moniruzzaman, and Kotwali police station officer-in-charge Montaser Billah were, among others, named in the case.

Abdur Rahman, father of the victim, Abdullah Al Tahir, filed the case with Rangpur Metropolitan Judicial Magistrate Court on Sunday, the plaintiff himself confirmed to Jago News.

Abdullah Tahir suffered bullet wounds during a clash between students, and police and AL men in front of City Bazar on July 19.
