14-party alliance decides to ban Jamaat, Shibir

The 14-party alliance led by Awami League on Monday decided to ban Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the alliance at Ganabhaban tonight, AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader told the reporters.
"The meeting of the 14-party alliance unanimously decided to ban Jamaat-Shibir to eliminate anti-state evil forces for the sake of the country," he said.
Workers' Party President Rashed Khan Menon said the government will implement the decision soon.
