BCL, anti-quota protesters clash at Natunbazar

Students protesting against the reinstatement of quotas in public services and demanding reform in the system and leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) clashed at Natunbazar in Dhaka on Tuesday.  

The clash ensued around 11:45am, said Razan Kumar Saha, Assistant Police Commissioner (Badda Zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

He said the situation is now normal but the students have kept the road blocked. Additional police members have been deployed in the area to keep the situation under control.

Source said a group of students of United International University (UIU) started blockade at Natunbazar from 11:30pm. The clash ensued when the leaders and activists of BCL went there to disperse them.
