Khaleda returns home after 12 days
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has returned to her Gulshan residence in Dhaka after 12 days of treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital.
She reached her residence Firoza around 7 pm on Tuesday, BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed.
Earlier on June 21, Khaleda Zia was admitted to the Critical Care Unit (CCU) at the hospital and on June 23, a 'pacemaker' was placed in her heart.
A pacemaker is an electrical device for stimulating or steadying the heartbeat or reestablishing the rhythm of an arrested heart.
On May 1, the BNP chief was admitted to the hospital's Coronary Care Unit (CCU) to remove water from her lungs and discharged after two weeks, a source in the party had said.
On March 31, she was admitted to the same facility as per the advice of the medical board formed for her treatment and returned home on April 2 after necessary health checkups.
Khaleda Zia has been suffering from arthritis, diabetes, kidney, lung, and eye issues for a long time.
She also experienced bleeding in the digestive tract and liver cirrhosis later in November.
