Filing cases making baseless stories is AL's daily program: Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said arresting opposition leaders and activists and filing cases against them by making baseless stories have now become the daily program of Awami League (AL).
Coming into power again after the January 7 one-sided election, AL became more ferocious, he said in a statement sent to the mass media on Sunday afternoon.
In the statement, Fakhrul said on the one hand, the government confined Khaleda Zia in false cases as part of enjoying state power forever, on the other hand, it is continuing oppression against opposition leaders and activists, including ones of BNP and its associate bodies, to intimidate the country people.
In continuation of it, Moulvibazar district BNP and its associate bodies' several leaders were arrested, he said.
People are angry at the misrule of occupying Awami League and their movement will continue until the illegal ruler is toppled, the BNP secretary general added.
He also demanded the withdrawal of fabricated and politically motivated cases against Moulvibazar district leaders and immediate release of them.
