Hard time going on, everyone should be united: Fakhrul
Mentioning that the country's people are going through a difficult time, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrusl Islam Alamgir has urged everyone, irrespective of party, to be united.
"We are passing a hard time. At this time, everyone should be united," he said at an iftar party at the Dhaka Ladies Club in the capital Dhaka on Thursday.
BNP hosted the event for the political leaders. The party's Acting Chairman Tareque Rahman joined it virtually as a chief guest.
Mirza Fakhrul said the fascist force is trying to establish a one-party rule in the country failing our all hopes and in this situation, we started a movement-struggle.
"We are working for a final struggle by uniting all democratic forces in the one-point movement and we will win, In Sha Allah," he vowed.
The iftar party, however, turned into a political reunion where the leaders and activists of BNP, and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami were seen at a stage for a long.
BNP Standing Committee Members Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, and Selina Rahman, Jamaat Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman, its Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, Assistant Secretary General Mawlana Abdul Halim, and Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, joined the program.
Besides, Nagarik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Secretary General Shahadat Selim, Labor Party Chairman Mostafizur Rahman Iran, Gono Forum General Secretary Subrata Chowdhury, Gono Odhikar Parishad President (partial) Nurul Haque Nur, Gono Odhikar Parishad Convener (partial) Moshiuzzaman, and AB Party Convener AFM Solaiman Chowdhury, among others, took part in the iftar party.
