Chandpur JCD general secretary jailed for 2 years

A court in Chandpur on Friday sentenced two local leaders of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), including the district unit general secretary Ismail Hossain Patwary, to two years in jail in a sabotage case.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Shahidul Amin delivered the verdict.

Another convict is JCD leader Zunaid Juki.

In this regard, the district BNP general secretary advocate Salim Ullah Selim said the case is a politically motivated one and they are strongly condemning and protesting the verdict.

Court sources said sub-inspector Mahbub Mondal of Chandpur Model Police Station filed the case in 2017 making Ismail Hossain the main accused.
