Fakhrul, Khasru get bail in CJ's residence attack case
A court in Dhaka on Wednesday allowed bail to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury in a case filed over the attack on the residence of Chief Justice, paving the way for setting them free from jail.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge court Acting Judge Foysal Bin Atiq passed the order, after holding a hearing on the pleas of the two BNP leaders.
Police's Detective Branch (DB) arrested Mirza Fakhrul from his Gulshan residence on October 29, 2023.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shafi Uddin sent him to jail in a case lodged over the attack on CJ's residence during BNP's grand rally in the capital Dhaka's Nayapaltan area on October 28.
Police in the early hours of November 3, 2023, picked up Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury from his Gulshan flat.
He was placed on a six-day remand in a case lodged over the murder of police constable Amirul Islam Pervej on October 28.
