Cricketer Shakib elected MP from Magura-1

Cricket star and Awami League candidate Shakib Al Hasan has been elected unofficially parliament member from the Magura-1 seat in the 12th general elections.
He secured 1,85,388 votes, and his nearest candidate Bangladesh Congress Chairman Kazi Rezaul Hossain got 5,973.
Earlier at 8 am, the Bangladesh cricket captain cast his vote at Darimagura Government Primary School.
The voting in the general elections was held across the country today, with low turnout and sporadic violence.
