Tarikat Federation chairman withdraws from election race

Tarikat Federation Chairman and current Member of Parliament (MP) Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizbhandari has withdrawn his candidacy from the 12th national parliamentary election race.

Maizbhandari, a candidate of Chattogram-2 (Fatikchhari) constituency, announced his withdrawal at a press conference held at his residence on Thursday morning.

He said he has withdrawn his candidacy from the constituency aiming to ensure the win of boat. But, other candidates of the party will contest the election from different constituencies of the country.  

Tarikat Federation leaders Syed Taibul Bashar Maizbhandari, Mohammad Shahjalal, Alamgir Alam, Mawlana Kazi Nizam Morshed were, among others, present during this time.

Notably, the 12th national parliamentary election will be held on January 7.
