BNP to form nat’l unity to fight terrorism: Nazrul

Bangladesh Nationalist Party standing (BNP) committee member Nazrul Islam on Tuesday said that the party is working to form a national alliance to fight the growing aggression of militancy and terrorism across the country.

Speaking at a press briefing at the party’s central office at Naya Paltan in the city, the BNP leader said ‘we have to launch a mass-resistance to fight the matter and even ruling Awami League is also welcomed to join the alliance.’

The BNP leader further said, ‘We are discussing the possible means to tackle terrorism and suppress militants together with people.’

He alleged that the government instead of resisting militancy accusing the BNP for political vengeance which strengthening the extremism and militancy in the country.

The government would have arrested the militants instead of killing them, if they (government) were serious to find out the roots of the extremism, he said.
