BNP announces 48-hour blockade from Wednesday

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced a 48-hour countrywide blockade for Wednesday and Thursday.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of the party, announced the programme at a virtual press briefing on Monday afternoon.

The fresh announcement came after the party’s 48-hour hartal that will end today.

Jamaat-e-Islami and other like-minded parties are also expected to declare a similar programme.

Earlier, the BNP and its allies observed countrywide blockade in fifth phase.
