BNP calls hartal on Sunday, Monday

BNP has announced a two-day dawn-to-dusk hartal on Sunday and Monday across the country protesting the declaration of the next general elections' schedule.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement in a virtual press conference on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier on Wednesday, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal announced that the 12th parliamentary elections will be held on January 7, 2024.

On the day, BNP turned down the schedule and demanded the polls under a caretaker government.
