A court in Dhaka has granted police three days to interrogate BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu in a case over the attack on the residence of Chief Justice.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate passed the remand order on Monday after police had produced him before the court, seeking a five-day remand for fair investigation in the case.

Earlier on Sunday midnight, the detectives detained him from his sister's home in the capital and he was shown arrested in the case over the attack on CJ's residence.

An attack was carried out on the residence of Chief Justice at Kakrail in the capital before BNP's October 28 grand rally at Nayapaltan.

Later, a case was filed against 59 BNP leaders and activists, including Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Members Mirza Abbas and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, with Ramna Police Station over the attack. Shamsuzzaman Dudu was also accused in the lawsuit.
