EC starts dialogues with political parties
The Election Commission (EC) has started dialogues with the registered political parties ahead of the upcoming 12th national elections.
The commission will inform the parties about its election preparations and also listen to their recommendations.
The EC started its dialogues with 22 parties including Awami League (AL) in the first phase at 10:30am on Saturday.
Two party members of AL including former Commerce Minister Col (retd) Faruk Khan attended the meeting.
The EC will also sit for the dialogue with 22 other parties in the afternoon in the second phase.
However, it is not confirmed whether the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will attend or not
Earlier in July, the EC also held dialogues with the registered political parties.
