BNP's Amir Khasru, Swapan put on 6-day remand
A court in Dhaka has placed BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and media cell convener Zahir Uddin Swapan on a six-day remand in a case over the death of constable Amirul Islam Parvez.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zaki Al Farabi passed the order on Friday after police had produced them before the court, seeking a 10-day remand.
Earlier, Amir Khasru was arrested from Gulshan in Dhaka early Friday while Swapan was apprehended on Thursday afternoon.
On October 28, constable Amirul received injuries on his head and fell on the road in Fakirapool Box Culvert Road area during a clash between police and BNP men when the party was holding a grand rally at Nayapaltan.
Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
On October 29, a case was lodged with Paltan Police Station in this connection.
