Arrest warrant issued against Mirza Abbas

A Dhaka court has issued an arrest warrant against BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas in a case filed for amassing illegal wealth beyond known sources.
Judge Monjurul Imam of Dhaka Special Judge Court-6 on Tuesday issued the arrest warrant against him after cancelling his bail in the case.
On August 16, 2007, ACC Deputy Director Md Shafiul Alam filed the graft case against Mirza Abbas with Ramna Police Station for allegedly amassing illegal wealth of Taka 7.54 crore and concealing information about wealth of Taka 57.26 lakh.
On May 24, 2008, the investigation officer of the case and ACC Deputy Director Md Khairul Huda submitted a charge sheet to the court.
On June 16, 2008, the court framed the charge against him.
