Two arrested in constable Amirul murder case

Two people have been arrested in a case over the death of constable Amirul Islam Parvez during Satudary's police-BNP clash at Nayapaltan in Dhaka.

The arrestees are Shamim Reza, convener of Palashbari municipality Swechasebak Dal in Gaibandha, and Md Sultan.

Of them, Shamim was arrested from Gaibandha while Sultan was apprehended from Demra in the capital.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Habibur Rahman told this media after the namaz-e-janaza of Amirul at Rajarbagh Police Lines on Sunday.

Earlier on Saturday, constable Amirul received injuries on head and fell on the road in Fakirapool Box Culvert Road area during a clash between police and BNP men when the party was holding a grand rally at Nayapaltan.

Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

A case was lodged with Paltan Police Station on Sunday in this connection.
