Next election won't be allowed without caretaker govt: Jamaat

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Acting Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman has said the next general elections won't be allowed to be held in the country without a caretaker government.

"The next parliamentary elections will not be allowed to be held without caretaker government and the polls will be stopped even with life," he vowed at a rally in Dhaka Arambagh area on Saturday.

Seeking the release of Jamaat's all leaders and activists, including its ameer, he said, "Jamaat-e-Islami only wants to implement the law of Allah and nothing else."

Earlier, Jamaat had announced holding a grand rally at Shapla Chattar at Motijheel on Saturday demanding the resignation of the government and the release of the party leaders-activists but did not get permission from the police for the program there.

Later, it held the rally at Arambagh this afternoon with the participation of thousands of leaders and activists.
