BNP to brief media on Khaleda’s condition today

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will brief the media on Khaleda Zia’s health condition on Tuesday afternoon.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will hold a press conference at the party chairperson’s political office at Gulshan in Dhaka at 3pm.

Confirming the matter, BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan said the press conference has been called regarding the health condition of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia. BNP Secretary General may also talk about contemporary issues.

On Sunday, the Law Ministry turned down Khaleda Zia’s application to go abroad for better treatment.

Law Minister Anisul Huq said the government has no scope to legally permit Khaleda Zia to go abroad for treatment.

Earlier on September 25, Khaleda Zia’s younger brother Shamim Eskander filed an application with the Home Ministry seeking permanent release for treatment abroad. The application was later sent to the Law Ministry from the Home Ministry.
