Now Awami League announces 8-day programme
The ruling Awami League (AL) has announced its 8-day programme starting from September 23.
The decision was taken in a joint meeting of the central AL leaders, the presidents and general secretaries of Dhaka North and Dhaka South AL units and affiliated organizations on Tuesday.
AL presidium members Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Dr Mostofa Jalal Mohiuddin, Joint Secretary Generals Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif and Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretaries Ahmed Hossain, Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapon, Mirza Azam, SM Kamal Hossain and BM Mozammel Haque, Dhaka city north AL president Bajlur Rahman, Dhaka city north AL president Abu Ahmed Monnafi and Juba League chairman were, among others, present at that time.
AL’s fresh programme includes rally at Baitul Mukarram’s south gate on September 23; rallies in Dhaka’s Uttara and Jatrabari on September 25; rally at Keraniganj in Dhaka on September 26; rallies in Gazipur’s Tongi and Dhaka’s Kafrul on September 27; prayer sessions on the occasion of Sheikh Hasina’s birthday and Eid-e-Miladunnabi on September 28; discussion meeting at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka on September 29 and farmers’ rally at Baitul Mukarram’s south gate on September 30.
Earlier on Monday, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) announced new programmes for 15 days to press home their one-point movement demanding elections under a non-partisan neutral government. The programme will start from September 19 and continue till October 3.
