BNP announces new programmes for next 15 days
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced new programmes for next 15 days from Tuesday to press home their one-point movement demanding elections under a non-partisan neutral government.
The programme will start from September 19 and continue till October 3.
BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan announced the fresh programmes at a press conference held at the party’s political office in the capital’s Gulshan on Monday.
He said they will hold rallies at Zinzira in Dhaka and Tongi in Gazipur on September 19, road marches in Bhairab, Brahmanbaria, Hobiganj, Moulvibazar and Sylhet on September 21 and prayer sessions for Khaleda Zia’s recovery across the country on September 22.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Member Abdul Moyeen Khan, Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon and Assistant Office Secretary Taiful Islam Tipu were, among others, present during this time.
It is mentionable that, in continuation of the one-point movement, the party held different programs, including road march and grand rally, and last brought out mass processions in the capital on September 9.
On July 12, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir formally announced a one-point movement to oust the current government to hold the next general election under a neutral caretaker government.
