Gono Odhikar Parishad gives EC 7-day ultimatum seeking registration

Gono Odhikar Parishad has given the Election Commission (EC) a seven-day ultimatum to register it as a political party.

The party's general secretary Muhammad Rashed Khan gave the ultimatum after handing over a memorandum to the EC on Tuesday.

Earlier this morning, Gono Odhikar Parishad marched toward the Election Commission at Agargaon in Dhaka protesting EC's decision not to register it as a political party but police stopped it at Bangamotor.

Later, a five-member delegation of the party led by its general secretary Rashed Khan handed over a memorandum to the EC, demanding registration.
