JaPa picks Sikder Anisur Rahman for Dhaka-17 by-polls

Jatiya Party (JaPa) has nominated Major (retd) Sikder Anisur Rahman to contest the by-elections to Dhaka-17 constituency.

Besides, Md Shahmsul Alam was chosen for by-polls to Chattogram-10 seat.

The party chairman's press secretary-2 Khandaker Delwar Jalali confirmed the matter to Jago News on Wednesday.

Interviews of the candidates were taken in the nomination board meeting at JaPa chairman's Banani office on Tuesday and the names of the nominated ones were announced this morning.

The by-elections to Dhaka-17 constituency will be held on July 17 which fell vacant following the death of film actor and lawmaker Farooque on May 15.

By-polls to Chattogram-10 seat will take place on July 30 and the constituency fell vacant after the death of Dr Afsarul Amin.
