Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar was shown arrested in a subversion case on Thursday as Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury allowed a police plea filed in this regard.

Parwar, who is in jail after getting arrested in a case lodged under the Anti-Terrorism Act, was produced before the court today and police pleaded to show him arrested in the subversion case filed with the capital's Paltan Police Station in 2018, and place him on a 10-day remand.

Allowing the police plea for showing him arrested, the court set May 7 to pass its order on the remand petition.

Police on September 6, 2021, arrested nine including Parwar from a flat at Block-D of Dhaka's Basundhara residential area. Police filed the case under the Anti-Terrorism Act with the capital's Bhatara Police Station on the same night.
