AL starts nomination form distribution for 5 city polls

The ruling Awami League has started distribution of nomination forms for the elections to five city corporations and five municipalities. 

The party’s Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan inaugurated the nomination paper distribution programme at the Awami League President’s political office in Dhanmondi on Sunday morning. 

At that time, Organizing Secretary S M Kamal Hossain collected the nomination form on behalf of incumbent mayor of Khulna City Corporation Talukdar Abdul Khalek.

Apart from, former president of Barishal city Chhatra League Jasimuddin collected the nomination form to contest as a mayor candidate in Barishal City Corporation election.

The nomination forms are also being distributed for the mayoral posts in five municipalities - Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Araihazar of Narayanganj, Gopaldi, Talora of Bogura and Basail of Tangail, 

As per the Election Commission’s schedule, Gazipur City Corporation polls will be held on May 25, Khulna and Barishal City Corporations on June 12 and Rajshahi and Sylhet City Corporations polls will be held on June 21.
