Ex-Jubo Dal president Nirab put on 3-day remand

A court in Dhaka on Sunday placed former Jubo Dal president Saiful Alam Nirab on a three-day remand in a case under the Explosive Substances Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mosharraf Hossain passed the order after police had produced him before the court, seeking a five-day remand.

Earlier on Saturday, police detained Nirab for attacking police and detonating cocktails allegedly by him and his workers in front of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) at Tejgaon of capital Dhaka after a road march of BNP on the day as previously announced.

Later, a case was lodged against him with Tejgaon Industrial Police Station in this connection under the Explosive Substance Act.
