Everything is Almighty Allah’s will, says Shahabuddin
Awami League (AL) nominated presidential candidate Mohammad Shahabuddin Chuppu has said everything is Almighty Allah’s will.
He expressed his reaction in one sentence to the journalists after submitting his nomination papers to Chief Election Commissioner’s office in the capital on Sunday.
Earlier, a team of the AL along with Shahabuddin led by the party General Secretary Obaidul Quader went to the Election Commission and submitted his nomination papers. Later, Quader introduced him to the newsmen as the party candidate for the 22nd presidential election.
Information and Broadcasting Minister and AL Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman were, among others, present during this time.
According to the country’s Constitution, members of parliament are voters in the presidential election.

AL has the absolute majority in the current parliament.
In that case, there is no possibility of any party other than the AL to give a candidate to the presidential polls.
If there is one candidate for the presidency, the election will not require a meeting or voting in parliament.
However, aspirants for the presidential election will have to submit their nomination papers to CEC office till 4pm today.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on February 13 from 10 am, while nomination papers can be withdrawn till 4pm on February 14.
