BNP’s mass sit-in programme underway

The mass sit-in programme of BNP and other like-minded opposition parties and alliances is underway in the capital and other divisions of the county demanding 10-point including holding the next polls under a non-party neutral government.

The programme started in front of the BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan around 10:30am on Wednesday and will continue till 3pm. The party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee members Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Mirza Abbas are, among others, present. Dhaka north and south city units of BNP are organizing the programme.

However, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) began the programme in front of its central office in East Panthapath. LDP Secretary General Dr Redwan Ahmed is present there. The party’s Joint Secretary General Salah Uddin Razzak confirmed the matter to Jago News.

Ganatantra Mancha started the programme in front of the National Press Club while Jatiyatabadi Samamona Jote is observing it in front of the Pritom Tower in Purana Paltan.

The programme is also being observed by the 12-party alliance in front of the Bijoynagar Water Tank.

As per the plan of BNP, party standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy is leading the programme in Sylhet Division while Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan in Rajshahi, Nazrul Islam Khan in Mymensingh, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in Chattogram, Selima Rahman in Barishal, and Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku in Rangpur, Vice-Chairmen Barkat Ullah Bulu in Cumilla, Shamsuzzaman Dudu in Khulna and Advocate Ahmad Azam Khan in Faridpur.
