BNP announces countrywide mass sit-in protest on Jan 11

BNP has announced a mass sit-in program in all divisional cities of the country on January 11 next year to press home their 10-point demand as previously declared.

It will hold the program from 10 am to 2 pm on the day.

BNP Standing Committee Member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain made the announcement in a brief rally before a mass procession in front of the party's Nayapaltan central office in capital Dhaka on Friday afternoon.

In the rally, he expressed his gratitude to the BNP leaders and activists for taking part in the mass procession like mass rallies in divisional cities defying obstacles.

"We demand the release of Begum Khaleda Zia and all other political prisoners. I hope the countrymen will oust this government by creating a mass revolt," he said.

The BNP senior leader also thanked other political parties for holding mass processions today as part of the simultaneous movement to topple the current government.

After the brief rally, the mass procession of BNP, however, started from the party's central office around 3:30 pm and it ended at Moghbazar at about 4:10 pm after parading Malibagh, Shantinagar and Mouchak intersections.

Apart from Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, BNP Standing Committee Members Nazrul Islam Khan, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khasru, Selima Rahman and other senior leaders led the procession.
