Fakhrul, Abbas getting division facilities in jail: state
Deputy Attorney General ABM Abdullah Al Mahmud Bashar on Tuesday said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and its Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas are already enjoying division facilities in the jail.
"Court has directed to provide them division facilities on December 9 and the order has already been executed. We have submitted documents before the court in this regard," said the DAG while taking part in the hearing on writ petitions filed by the spouses of the two BNP leaders.
A High Court division bench of Justice KM Kamrul Kader and Justice Mohammad Ali held hearing on the matter and set December 14 for passing order in this regard.
Mirza Fakhrul's wife Rahat Ara Begum and Mirza Abbas's wife Afroza Abbas filed the petitions in the morning.
Advocate AJ Mohammad Ali, Advocate Joynul Abedin, Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Barrister Bodruddoja Badal, Barrister Kaiser Kamal and Barrister Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal took part in the hearing for the pleas.
The two BNP leaders were arrested on December 8 in a case filed over the clash between BNP men and law enforcing agencies members in Nayapaltan area on December 7.
