The BNP lawmaker himself confirmed the matter to Jago News on Tuesday morning.

He said, I am staying in Australia for a special work. I will return home on December 20 and submit the resignation letter in-person.

Earlier on Sunday, five BNP lawmakers went to the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat and submitted their resignation letters to the Speaker of the Parliament Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.

They are Gulam Mohammad Siraj of Bogura-6, Zahidur Rahman of Thakurgaon-3, Mosharrof Hosen of Bogura-4, Aminul Islam of Chapainawabganj-2 and reserved seat lawmaker Barrister Rumeen Farhana.

Harunur Rashid of Chapainawabganj-3 and Abdus Sattar of Brahmanbaria-2 submitted their resignation through Rumeen.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, after receiving the resignation letters, said that Harun sent the resignation letter through email where his scanned signature was used and that the MP would have to submit a fresh resignation letter if he wished to resign from the parliament.
