Provocative remark against PM: BNP ex-MP on 2-day remand
A Dhaka court has placed former BNP lawmaker (reserved seat) Sultana Ahmmed on a two-day remand in a case filed over provocative statement against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam granted the remand on Sunday after the investigation officer of the case and the Sub Inspector of Paltan Police Station Ashraful Alam produced her before the court with a seven-day remand prayer.
Earlier on Sunday, Abdul Hamid, former President of Gopalganj district unit Chhatra League, filed the case against Sultana Ahmmed.
Later, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested her from her residence in the capital’s Gulshan.
According to the case statement, Sultana made provocative and derogatory remarks against Sheikh Hasina during a programme of BNP on September 1.
It is to be noted that, Sultana is the General Secretary of Jatiyatabadi Mahida Dal.
