People's movement cannot be suppressed by threats: Fakhrul

Criticizing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's statement 'If BNP does excess, Khaleda Zia will be sent to jail again', BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said people's movement cannot be suppressed by these threats.

"The government is doing excess and ruining political structure creating state terror. People's movement cannot be restrained by these threats," he said.

Fakhrul said this while talking to journalists at BNP Chairperson's political office at Gulshan in capital Dhaka on Friday morning.

The BNP leader said it has been proved from the prime minister's statement how vindictive they (Awami League-led government) are and they don't believe in democracy.

The prime minister made the statement due to political vengeance and she did so to divert people's movement that started in the country but people will move forward, he added.
