Gono Odhikar Parishad applies for registration
Gono Odhikar Parishad has applied to the Election Commission to get registered as a political party.
The party's member secretary Nurul Haque Nur along with other leaders submitted the application to the EC on Sunday afternoon.
After the submission of the application, Nur told the reporters they are concerned about the election-time government but not about the election commission.
"Election-time government is much more important than election commission to us as we have seen two controversial elections under the current government in 2014 and 2018," he said.
He also said they want such a festive election so people can spontaneously exercise their voting rights and elect representatives.
Mentioning that they have been demanding an election-time neutral government, he vowed, "We are not going and will not go to polls under the current government."
