Rizvi's case appeal against police over N'ganj clash rejected
A court in Narayanganj has rejected the case appeal filed against the police over the death of Jubo Dal activist Shaon during the BNP-police clash in the district.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Imran Molla on Sunday afternoon turned down the appeal lodged by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
Confirming the matter, the plaintiff's lawyer advocate AKM Omar Faruque Nayan said they were deprived of justice and will file a revision in the High Court against the order.
The court police inspector Asaduzzaman told Jago News that Rizvi filed a case petition over the incident. The court accepted his statement but rejected the petition.
Earlier on September 1, BNP men clashed with police in Narayanganj city during a program marking the party's 44th founding anniversary.
Jubo Dal activist Shaon, 35, was shot dead allegedly by police, and around 50 BNP leader-activist and 15 cops were injured in the incident.
