Kazi Zafar Ahmed passes away
Former Prime Minister Kazi Zafar Ahmed, also leader of a faction of Jatiya Party (JP) passed away at United Hospital in city on Thursday morning. He was 76.
He was admitted to the hospital in the morning following cardiac problems.
Kazi Zafar`s press secretary Golam Mostafa has confirmed the matter to jagonews24.com.
In November 2013, former president HM Ershad expelled Kazi Zafar from the party for making frequent statements against him “violating the party charter.”
On the same day, Kazi Zafar sent a suspension letter to Ershad claiming that he was the “all-in-all” of the Jatiya Party, not Ershad. But he also mentioned in the printed letter in handwriting that he had “expelled” the party chief.
Kazi Zafar had been a JP leader for over three decades.
In January 2014, he formed a party of the same name and joined the BNP-led alliance.
