JCD leader Mansura sues 33 BCL men
Mansura Alam, a member of the convener committee of Dhaka University unit Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, has sued 33 leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Chhatra League.
She filed the case in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Shanto Islam Mallick on Sunday on allegations of theft, beating and attempted murder.
Accepting her statement, the court asked the officer in-charge of Shahbagh Police Station to investigate the allegations and submit a probe report by June 26.
Central BCL vice-president Tilottama Shikder, BCL private university affairs secretary Al Amin Rahman, and organizing secretary Md Nazim Uddin are among the accused.
In addition to the 33 leaders and activists, 100 more unknown BCL men were made accused in the lawsuits.
Several people, including Mansura Alam and Zahurul Haque Hall unit Chhatra Dal activist Atique Morshed were beaten by Chhatra League men near Teachers Students Council (TSC) premises on May 22.
