Muhith buried beside parents’ graves

Former Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith was buried beside the graves of his parents at Raynagar in Sylhet at 2:45pm on Sunday. 

Earlier, his second namaz-e-janaza was held at Sylhet Alia Madrasa ground at 2:18pm. Allama Muhibul Haque Gachbari conducted the janaza. 

People from all walks of life attended the janaza of Muhith. 

His younger brother Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen, Planning Minister M A Mannan, Forest Minister Md Shahab Uddin, former chief whip of the Jatiya Sangsad lawmaker Abdus Shahid and Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Chairman lawmaker Hafiz Ahmed Majumder addressed among others during this time.

Before the janaza prayer, his body was kept at Sylhet Central Shaheed Minar to allow the people to have a last glimpse of the celebrated son of this soil.

Muhith breathed his last at 12:56 am on Saturday at the United Hospital in Dhaka at the age of 88.

Earlier, his first namaj-e-janaza was held in capital’s Gulshan Azad mosque at 11:05am.
