Kader Siddique to undergo surgery on Wednesday
Krishak Sramik Janata League President Bangabir Abdul Kader Siddique will undergo gallbladder surgery at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital on Wednesday.
The disclosure was made in a press release signed by the party's joint secretary Iqbal Siddique on Tuesday afternoon.
Under the supervision of BSMMU Pro Vice-Chancellor (administration) Professor Dr Saif Uddin Ahmed, the surgery faculty Prof Dr Touhidul Alam and Prof Dr Md Abul Kalam Chowdhury will perform the operation, quoting sources in the facility, the press release read.
Earlier on March 24, the BSMMU formed a medical board for the treatment of the veteran politician which on Sunday took the decision of conducting his surgery on Wednesday.
Kader Siddique was admitted to the hospital with abdomen pain on March 20.
Earlier in September last year, he was diagnosed with gallbladder stones at the facility but it was not possible to perform his operation at that time as he had tested coronavirus positive.
