BD-USA to work jointly to curb terrorism: Inu

Calling USA as close friend of Bangladesh Information Minister on Thursday said Bangladesh and USA will work jointly to prevent cyber crime, protect democracy, take forward the sustain development as well as curb terrorist from Bangladesh.

The minister said this to journalists after a meeting with Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat, ambassador of USA in Bangladesh at secretariat in the morning following the deadly terrorist attacks on Gulshan Holey Artisan Bakery and Solakia Eidgah.

The minister said there are mutual friendship between USA and Bangladesh for many days in political and socio-economical arena.

And now we are discussing about the steps and ways to curb militants and terrorists from the world, said Inu.

Earlier, militants carried out deadly attacks in city’s Holey Artisan Bakery where gunman killed 22 people including 17 foreigners and two police officers on July 1, and Solakia Eidgah on July 7 where four people, including two policemen, a woman and a suspected assailant, died while hundreds of thousands had gathered for Eid congregation this morning.

Following the attacks USA assured Bangladesh to help for curbing militancy and Nisha Desai Biswal, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs in the USA, visited Bangladesh on July 10 and expressed her interest to work jointly with Bangladesh in this regard.
