Case filed against Ctg BNP convener, 74 others

Police have filed a case against Chattogram city BNP convener Dr Shahadat Hossain, its member secretary Abul Hashem and 73 other leaders and activists over the Wednesday’s clash with police in Chattogram. 

The case was filed with Chattogram Kotwali Police Station on Wednesday night. 

In this connection, Mohammad Nezam Uddin, Officer-in-charge of the police station, said they filed a case against the 75 BNP men over the attack on police. 

The police officer said, they detained 49 people from the spot and have been shown arrested in the case. 

On Wednesday afternoon, the leaders and activists of BNP took to the street in front of the press club in Chattogram to hold a human chain programme. The vehicular movement was suspended on both sides of the street in the area when around 600 BNP men took part in the programme. At that time, police urged them to leave the street but they locked into a clash with police.
