Local sources said Golam Rabbani has been campaigning for independent candidate in Ishibpur UP polls and his uncle (maternal) Salah Uddin for a few days.

Today he locked into an altercation with Sohel Molla, the son of his uncle's rival candidate Mosharaf Molla, over the allegations of vote-rigging brought against the former.

At one stage, a knife attack was carried on the former BCL leader, leaving his two fingers of hand injured.
