Bullet-hit Pirojpur Juba League leader dies

A Juba League leader, who was shot during an attack at Mollik Baristand area under Shankarpasha union in Pirojpur sadar upazila on November 7, has passed away.

The deceased was identified as Foysal Mahbub Shubha, 32, son of Md Hanif, of Goalta village under Soyna Roghunathpur union in Kawkhali upazila of the district. Shubha was the General Secretary of Kawkhali Municipality Juba League.

A Z M Masuduzzaman, Officer-in-charge of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station, confirmed the death to Jago News on Tuesday morning.

According to the source, the supporters of Awami League nominated chairman candidate Tofazzol Hosen Swapon and its rebel candidate Mawlana Nasir Uddin locked in a clash. Eight people were shot during the clash. Of them, Shubha was first sent to Khulna Medical College and Hospital and later shifted to Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in Dhaka on November 8 where he died around 12pm on Monday.
