Murder accused AL leader arrested

Police have arrested a local Awami League leader, who is accused in a murder case, in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district.
Arrested Abdul Mannan Matubbar, 60, is the human resource affairs secretary of Parameshwardi union Awami League.
On information, police conducted a drive in Moyendia area around 2 am on Tuesday and nabbed Matubbar, said Boalmari Police Station sub-inspector Md Akkas Ali.
He was arrested in nine cases, including one of murder and two of attacks on police, the SI said.
However, the AL leader, who had been a fugitive for a long, was sent to jail today following a court order.
