N'ganj JCD president Rony sent to jail

Narayanganj district unit Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal president Moshiur Rahman Rony has been sent to jail in a case filed over the violence during Hefazat-e-Islam's March 28 hartal. 

The district Judicial Magistrate, Shakil Ahmed, on Sunday passed the order after a bail hearing.

Earlier on Saturday night, police detained Rony from Bangla Motor area in the capital of Dhaka.

Later, he was sent to court showing arrested in three cases filed with Narayanganj's Siddhirganj Police Station filed over the mayhem in Siddhirganj area of the district on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway during Hefazat's hartal.

Today bail hearing was held in one out of the three cases and the rest two would be heard later.

Confirming the matter, the inspector of the court's police, Asaduzzaman, said September 23 was fixed for the next hearing of the case.
